The start
It’s been about one and a half years. I still remember how it began—it feels like it was just yesterday. There wasn’t a specific moment of inspiration, but I’ve always loved being in front of the camera. For a long time, I was camera-shy because I was quite heavy, which made me self-conscious. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I lost a lot of weight, and that gave me confidence. One day, I randomly picked up a camera and started recording. I had so many ideas, and I finally had the courage to try them out. That’s how it all started, and I’ve never looked back.
Multi-language approach
It depends on the moment and the type of content I’m creating. Sometimes English feels right, other times Hindi or Marathi. I don’t restrict myself to one language because I want to connect with a wider audience and keep it natural and relatable.
Deciding on a niche
Food has always been a big part of my life. I’ve always been a foodie, excited to try new things. My family and I used to visit new restaurants as soon as they opened. When I started creating content, it felt natural to document something I already loved. Sharing my love for food combines my passion and creativity.
Challenges
A big challenge is how people undervalue the effort that goes into content creation. Some brands offer barter deals, which I don’t accept because I value my work. Paid collaborations can also be tricky—delayed payments, unrealistic demands, and constant revisions even when the content is good. It can be frustrating.
Another challenge is the competition. There are so many creators producing similar content, and some even imitate my style. Standing out isn’t easy, but I focus on staying true to myself and my unique perspective.
Approach to be unique
I’ve never been about chasing views or trends. I create content because I enjoy it, and that makes it authentic. When I started, it was just my brother and me exploring places and having fun. That genuine joy is still at the heart of my work.
I also try to add a creative touch. It’s not just about showcasing food or places; it’s about storytelling, sharing experiences, and adding my personal touch.
Balancing responsibilities
It’s all about time management. I spend about four days a week editing, which takes 4–5 hours per session. Shooting happens on weekends or after work. It’s a lot to juggle, but I enjoy it, so it doesn’t feel like a burden.
Busy schedule
My weekends are usually spent shooting, and weekday evenings are for editing. I get some downtime on Sundays, but it’s limited. Still, I wouldn’t trade it for anything because I love what I do.
A place outside Goa
Definitely New York for its vibrant food scene and cultural diversity. Switzerland is also on my bucket list, especially the Lindt chocolate factory. As a chocolate lover, visiting it would be a dream come true.
Advice to aspiring creators
My first advice is to just start. Don’t overthink it—take the leap and give it your all. Secondly, do it for the love of it, not for fame or money. Passion will drive everything else.
Be original. Don’t copy others; bring your unique perspective. Lastly, be ready to work hard. Content creation may look easy, but it takes a lot of effort, creativity, and dedication.
