The Shree Damodar Circle near the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao roundabout is finally ready for its inauguration on November 18.
Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai shared that his NGO, “We For Fatorda”, has been closely involved with the Shree Damodar Circle. He recalled how a group of devotees (Bhakts) of Lord Damodar came together to design and create a special tribute to Lord Shree Damodar, featuring a geometric representation of the Deep Sthambh. “This iconic civic landmark is enhanced by a public light art installation that blends vibrant colours with mist, creating a beautiful visual experience,” he said.
Sardesai added, “The light art installation represents the aura of a diya (lamp) surrounding the Deep Sthambh, creating a peaceful and captivating atmosphere.”
The Fatorda MLA emphasised that this unique artwork is not only a remarkable addition to Goa but also the first of its kind in India, making it an important cultural landmark. It is named the Shree Damodar Circle. “Today, the Shree Damodar Circle Group came together for a trial run and to oversee the final touches. The Circle will be inaugurated on November 18 at 6.30 pm,” Sardesai concluded.
