L&J Events hosted the ‘Red & Black’ Carnival Dance at the Cranford Community Hall, London, on March 1 from 7 pm onwards.
The dress code was strictly Red and Black. The highlights of the evening were the King Momo Parade, best dressed costume, and other prizes and surprises.
The parade was a traditional hit with King Momo leading the parade followed by kids holding flags and banners. Following them were the two live bands.
The Live Band ‘The Runks’ were flown in from Goa for the show along with the local band ‘Reunion’. DJ Queency played the traditional Carnival beats for the parade.
The best dressed couples and guests with colourful attire joined the parade. The prize for the best costume was won by Ronnie who wore a traditional Goan outfit, followed by second runner up Riaan Fernandes, a five-year-old who wearing a red and black goblet outfit.
King Momo declared the Carnival open which was followed by glitz and glam. Guests were on the floor dancing to the music. Micky Caterers provided the catering services.
“People came and experienced the glamour and the glitz of the Red & Black’ Carnival Dance. Events like this help to keep the Goan tradition and culture alive globally, so that people can enjoy home away from home,” said Aloyd Fernandes, the organiser at the event.
