The CalifornianGoans community hosted its Annual Feast Mass at the St Athanasius Catholic Parish in Mountain View, California, on December 2 at 5 pm.
The event began with feast-goers being greeted with flowers handcrafted by Diana Fernandes and pinned to their lapels.
A Konkani Mass was celebrated by Fr Bernard John D’Sa, while the Mass preparations were arranged by Maria Rodrigues. A harmonious Konkani Choir was led by Nadia Rebello and Randolf Dias.
John Azavedo coordinated the procession, joined by the Irmãos, adding to the solemnity of the occasion. A litany was also conducted in the Church Hall.
To evoke the nostalgia of a traditional by Goan fair, a small feast fair was set up by Austin Vaz and team, offering much-loved Goan treats such as Kadyo Bodyo, Ladoos, and Roasted Chana, Chouriço Pão and Chicken Rolls.
The fair was followed by a dinner featuring Sorpotel, Pulao and other authentic Goan dishes.
The CalifornianGoans thanked all volunteers who contributed their time and effort to make this celebration a success.
“The event was a perfect blend of faith, food, and festive joy, bringing the Goan community together in celebration,” said Joseph Lourenco of the CalifornianGoans.
