Celebrities Goa, considered Goa's first and only registered exclusive lifestyle community celebrated its second anniversary at Verna on October 21.
The lifestyle brand, founded by Adv. Celbert Dias and ace fashion designer Praven Saldanha aka Monty Sally, has extended its wings beyond Goa, with members in places like Mumbai, Bangalore, and even overseas in countries like UK and USA.
ANNIVERSARY
This year's edition titled 'Celebrities Goa The Annual - Edition II' at Verna featured an exclusive collection by Monty Sally called ‘Aurumagnifique’. The event also featured the launch of Goa's first ever SketchBot, an initiative by Mirrormegoa unlike any other, besides interactions and attractions like the 360° rotating photo booth, etc.
DJ Alliston kept the music flowing while mimicry artiste Saidutt Kamat engaged everyone with his inimitable style and brand of comedy.
“The hallmark of Celebrities Goa is the fact that it features exclusivity unlike any other brand in Goa. Food and Beverage is yet another prominent highlight that has emerged out of the feedback of the two editions held so far,” said Dias.
In keeping with the brand culture and our esteemed clientele, Celebrities Goa also featured a lot of new faces and upcoming hitherto undiscovered talent at their 2nd Edition aka The Annual Edition II.
EVENTS
Dias said Celebrities Goa were involved with initiatives and activities during the course of its first year.
“The association collaborated with events during festivals like Christmas, New Year, etc. We look to consolidate what we already have and keep adding to our repertoire slowly but surely," said Dias.
As far as initiatives for the upcoming year are concerned, Dias said there are events lined up, including an all new title (undisclosed for now) for which the rights are already owned by co-founder Monty Sally.
“We will also carry out a drive to consolidate membership beyond Goa, while remaining true to its roots here in Goa. Celebrities Goa will always be a totally Goan initiative with a global outreach,” said Monty Sally.
OBJECTIVES
Celbert Dias and Monty Sally describe Celebrities Goa as a lifestyle community to provide a wide range of artistes celebrities a platform to showcase their talent and give Goan artistes a voice on the national as well as the international stage.
Another prominent initiative is the infusion of a lot of upcoming, untapped talent.
“We see a lot of promising talent around, we need to immediately tap into their potential to give them opportunities. A few critiques (who are dime a dozen in Goa) are of the opinion that only those already established and so-called self-proclaimed celebrities should be invited,” said Dias.
“However, we beg to differ. If new and untapped talent are not given opportunities now, when will anyone ever get to know about them? We have to change our perspective for the better Inorder to discover potential for the future."
Dias said ‘Dreams that become’ is the phrase that exemplifies the core strength of ‘Celebrities Goa’.
“This is the gateway to an exclusive lifestyle community. ‘Dreams that become’ is our caption as we seek to make all our dreams come true. ‘Celebrities Goa’ is the first such lifestyle community for Goans across the world,” explains Dias.
“At ‘Celebrities Goa’, we plan to channelise existing and upcoming talent and leverage them to a level wherein they are provided the right platform to showcase their wares, talents, etc.”
Added Praveen Saldanha aka Monty Sally: “Goa has immense talent even though the population is tiny. The aim is to enable collaboration between various talents by bringing them under one roof. The platform called ‘Celebrities Goa’.”
Monty Sally said Celebrities Goa cover celebrated individuals as well as upcoming talent and undiscovered faces in various fields.
