VANCOUVER
The Goan Overseas Association (G.O.A.) Vancouver hosted the dinner and dance event ‘Nite in Goa’ at the Riverside Banquet Hall in Vancouver on September 28.
The ‘Big Foot’ band from Toronto performed at the event and kept the crowd on the dance floor, while DJ Paul also provided scintillating music and Palmira Braganza/Alex Fernandes presented a slide show on the screen at the event.
The emcee, Andrew Nazareth, guided the audience through the night’s programme with his witty humour, charm and grace. The food was catered by the Riverside Banquet Hall Surrey.
In his speech, G.O.A. Vancouver President John Braganza expressed his appreciation to everyone who contributed to making the ‘Nite in Goa’ event a spectacular success.
“It truly takes many hands to make an event thrive, and this memorable evening was made possible through the tireless efforts of my executive team and the many volunteers who worked passionately to bring it all to life. Your hard work and dedication were instrumental in the event's success,” acknowledged John.
He also praised Anne Da Silva and her talented team of volunteers for transforming the hall with their top-notch décor.
John also thanked all those who contributed to making the Spirits Corner (Bar) run smoothly, and they included Judith Braganza, Crystal-Ann Lobo Fernandes, Ben Rego, Doug Nazareth, Francisco (Shikith) Da Cruz, Louis D'Mello, Olavo Sodder, and Oscar Pinto.
The G.O.A. Vancouver president also extended his gratitude to the sponsors and promoters Universal Rope, Clifford Falerio, Ritu and Nigel D'Souza, Deborah and Louis D'Mello, Alison and Doug Nazareth, Goan Fish and Feni Group, Sigma Marine Service Inc - Owen Pereira, for their generous support towards the event.
Thanking the G.O.A. Vancouver members for attending the event, John said, “Your presence and participation are key to the success of our Association. Thank you all for being a part of this wonderful evening. We look forward to many more successful events together!”
