LONDON
Thousands of Goans will be treated to a two-day festival of music, dance, food and fun, as Goan culture will be presented at the Goa Day London 2024 at the Cranford Community College on July 27 from 2 pm to 8 pm and on July 28 from 2 pm to 8.30 pm.
Hosted by Showbiz Global, the two-day festival will feature music from Goa’s nightingale Lorna, Steven Kapur BEM, British singer-songwriter and reggae DJ better known by the stage name ‘Apache Indian’ and for his popular song ‘Boom Shack-A-Lak’, and ‘Black Sapphire’, which makes its debut performance in the UK. DJ Salvino and DJ Jonathan will also perform at the festival
A wide spread of cuisine will be one of the highlights at the Goa Day London 2024, with an expanded line-up of restaurant partners from authentic Goan delicacies to international cuisines.
“Last year, our event attracted around 10,000 people and was proclaimed ‘the best and most well organised event in whole of west London’ by local authority officials,” said Calvin Barretto of Showbiz Global and one of the main organisers at Goa Day London 2024.
Emphasising on safety and security, Barreto said CCTVs would be set up for safety of their patrons and staff.
“Our security arrangements were welcomed by licensing authorities and Hounslow Police as part of our licencing process. Safety and security of our patrons is one of our core principles and last year for a large event of our scale, there was no incident recorded both inside and outside the venue. We would also like to thank the community around Cranford Community College in their support for the event,” said Calvin.
This year, the organisers will offer free tickets for the Goa Day London festival to key workers in gratitude for their continued and dedicated service to the community.
“This event not only celebrates the vibrant Goan culture but also acknowledges the contributions of our key workers. Free entry is available on a first come first serve basis for key workers, plus 1, plus children from Hounslow and surrounding Boroughs, including health service, police, fire services and education on the first day of the event on July 27,” Calvin said.
Key workers will need to pre-register on showbizgloballtd@gmail.com latest by July 1. Further details of the Goa Day London 2024 are available on www.showbiz.global and to purchase tickets.
“Kickstart your summer right after the school holidays begin with a vibrant two-day festival that promises to be an unforgettable experience,” said Calvin.
“Mark your calendars for a weekend packed with extraordinary music performances, mouth-watering eats, and the best of festival entertainment. Whether you're looking to dance, dine, or simply soak in the festive atmosphere, Goa Day London 2024 is the place to be.”
