Goan to get King Charles III Coronation Medal in Canada

The Goan Overseas Association (G.O.A) Toronto President Selwyn Collaco will be awarded with the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal, in recognition of his community leadership and notable dedication to cultural preservation.

The award will be presented to Collaco at a ceremony at the Senate of Canada in Ottawa on February 28.

In a letter to Collaco, Senator Andrew Cardozo stated that a commemorative medal has been issued in honour of the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles Ill, the new King of Canada, 

“The King Charles III Coronation Medal recognises outstanding Canadians who have made, and continue to make, notable contributions to their communities and to our country. This award upholds a longstanding tradition of honouring distinguished citizens of the Commonwealth upon the ascension of a new sovereign,” stated Cardozo.

Cardozo said the King Charles III Coronation Medal would be awarded to Collaco in recognition of his notable contributions to Canada through his dedication to cultural preservation and community leadership, and his leadership of the Goan Overseas Association,

“I look forward to the opportunity to recognise your contributions to Canada,” Cardozo informed Collaco.
