In an unusual display of creativity, nine-year-old twins Rachel and Troy Dias have launched their very own storybooks, ‘Rose never gives up’ by Rachel and ‘Bob-the Robot’ by Troy.
The book release event took place at Sharjah International Book Fair on November 13, attracting family, friends, and community members eager to celebrate the twins' remarkable achievement.
The morning was filled with excitement as the twins took centre stage to read excerpts from their books, captivating the audience with their imaginative tale of Rose and Bob, the main characters in their stories, as the young authors animatedly brought their characters to life.
The book was released by Raj Mirchandani, ex-Manager of Revenue and Administration of Emirates Airlines and Dnata in the presence of Salim Ayyanath, Writer and Author and K. K Jiyas, Cricketeer and Coach.
“We love reading, and writing our own books felt like a dream come true,” shared Rachel. “We hope it inspires other kids to tell their own stories!”
Commenting on her book, Rachel said: “Rose never gives up is a story of a girl who wants to give her best in life. In the beginning, she was scared to try new things. But slowly she learns the value of never giving up while learning to swim.”
“You can read the book to younger kids, and older kids can read by themselves, as it teaches kids the spirit to never give up. It gives a message to the kids to open themselves up to new opportunities, which is a useful lesson for everyone, regardless of age. The best lesson from the story is that no one is too small to make a difference and that every action counts.”

Describing his book, Troy added: “Bob—the Robot deals with issues of loneliness and friendship in school. The story revolves around a boy named James who is unable to make friends in school. He longs for a friend. So he creates a robot named Bob as his friend.”
“Together they have some adventures, and James feels happy to have company. His robot becomes popular in school and James decides to create another robot called Buddy for any lonely student to take home or for a teacher who needs a friend. In this way he spreads well-being in school. The book teaches us the importance of friendship and empathy and that everyone deserves a true friend.”
Parents and teachers expressed immense pride in the twins' accomplishments.
“Their creativity and enthusiasm are truly inspiring,” said their father Terrence. “It’s wonderful to see young children so passionate about writing.”
As the event came to a close, Rachel and Troy expressed gratitude to their supporters and shared their hopes for the future.
