Impact Gym & Fitness Goa India along with UK fitness lovers will organise their first international bodybuilding competition in collaboration with BPA (the British Physique Alliance), with the Classic Body Building UK competition to be staged at Cranford Community College indoor hall, London, on July 27.

"This prestigious international unisex event promises a day of intense competition and extraordinary athleticism," said Somesh Velguekar, owner of Impact Gym & Fitness Goa India, one of the main organisers.

"This event provides a global platform for bodybuilders to showcase their dedication and sculpted physiques."

From a total of 55 participants (male and female), four bodybuilders will represent Goa for the first time in such an event.

Goan bodybuilders participating include Mack Fernandes, Bolton Fernandes, and Valerio Fernandes representing Infinity Gym and Somesh Velguekar of Impact Gym Goa, India.

Their participation highlights the international scope of the competition and underscores the growing prominence of Goan athletes in the bodybuilding community.

When asked how and why did he come up with the idea of a bodybuilding contest in London, Somesh said: "It was to give our Indian and Goan bodybuilders a platform to participate internationally."

"Impact Gym is known for its commitment to fitness excellence, and partnering with BPA ensures a professionally organised event. The competition will feature various categories to accommodate different body types and experience levels, making it accessible to both seasoned competitors and newcomers, said Somesh.

Somesh has been involved in body building gyms in Goa, before migrating to the UK.

"With a passion in this sport, I have been keen raise the level of Goan bodybuilders to an international level, hence this first show in the UK."
