The visiting Vice Chancellor was on a sojourn to the State, principally to explore the operationalisation of the MoU, signed between Goa University and the BSMRMU in Dhaka, Bangladesh, during the visit of Prof Menon to the country in November 2022. Three Schools of Goa University are envisaged for academic collaboration with counterparts at the BSMRMU, viz., School of International and Area Studies (SIAS), School of Earth Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences (SEOAS) and School of Biological Science and Biotechnology (SBSB) respectively, involving faculty and scholar exchange arrangements, besides the prospects for Goa University to proffer its academic expertise to BSMRMU, vide teaching, joint-research, and academic and policy consultancy expertise. SIAS, Goa University, took the initiative of organising a ‘Distinguished Lecture’ event on Campus, which involved a talk by Rear Admiral Musa themed ‘Strategic Dimensions and Prospects for India-Bangladesh Maritime Cooperation’.
