Goa's fight against cancer got a bit of a boost with a step up for diagnosis as the Goa Medical College and Hospital on Saturday got a mobile 'cancer detection vehicle' delivered to it by Bharat Electronics Limited's (BEL) Taloja Unit. The vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive array of advanced medical amenities, including Analog Mammography, Digital X-ray, Portable Ultrasound, Digital ECG, Hematology Analysis, Biochemistry Analysis, Digital Microscope, and Cryo Surgery capabilities. Its purpose is to facilitate comprehensive cancer detection services for patients. Functioning as a mobile unit, it will traverse through Goa's rural landscape, vastly improving early detection rates of cancer. The vehicle will be operated by staff of the GMC.
