Renowned Konkani writer, poet, dramatist and winner of Sahitya Academy award, Jess Fernandes’ Konkani epic entitled ‘Vontth Mhoje Kristak Gaitat’ (My Lips Sing For Jesus) will be released by Mannik Prokashann at the hands of Rev Fr Manuel Gomes, ex-director, Diocesan Centre for Biblical Apostolate and Parish priest of Mandur, on January 14 at 4.00 pm at Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Aquem-Margao.
Goa’s Archbishop-Cardinal’s Secretary Rev Fr Joaquim Loiola Pereira will be the guest of honour. Rev Fr Geraldo da Costa and Prof Gunaji Dessai will share their views on the book.
On the occasion three Goan dignitaries will be felicitated by Mannik Prokashann for their immense contribution to Konkani literature, art, culture and traditional Goan vocation, namely Dr Jayanti Naik (Konkani literature), John Claro Fernandes (Konkani Tiatr) and Kum. Shweta Gaonkar (Goan traditional vocation).
