UDID for persons with disability

The Directorate of Social Welfare is implementing a Unique Disability identity Card (UDID) for persons with disabilities in the State of Goa, a project of  Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

The criteria for eligibility and documents required to apply for UDID are: minimum disability of 40% and above duly certified by the Medical Board, scanned recent passport size photograph ( Only jpeg, jpg, gif and pnj image with size 15 KB TO 30KB allowed),scanned signature (only jpeg, jpg, gif and pnj image with size 3KB to 30 KB), scan address and identity proof and disability certificate (only jpeg, jpg, pnj and pdf with size 10 KB to 100 KB).

With UDID card persons with disabilities will not need to make multiple copies of document, maintain to carry multiple documents, as the card will capture all the necessary details which can be decoded with the help of a reader.

The UDID card will be the single document of identification, verification of the disabled for availing various benefits in future. The UDID card will also help in streamlining the tracking of the physical and financial progress of beneficiary at all levels of hierarchy of implementation – from village level, district level and national level. Pension scheme benefits Central /State Government schemes can be availed.
