Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar inaugurated the ‘Nirmiti Rural Mart’ at Poinguinim on Thursday, as part of efforts to promote rural entrepreneurship and women empowerment. ‘Nirmiti Rural Mart’ is a marketing supported by NABARD organised in association with the Rural Development Agency, and is managed by Ashma Pagi, Priti Sudhir and Alka Phaldessai in full cooperation with the Poinguinim panchayat.
Speaking on the occasion, Tawadkar said this initiative is a step forward in empowering women entrepreneurs and supporting local vendors, fostering sustainable development and economic growth in the community. Poinguinim Sarpanch Savita Tawadkar, NABARD Officer Rupesh Bhamaikar, women entrepreneurs Ashma Pagi, Priti Sudhir and Alka Phaldessai were present on the occasion.
