MAPUSA: The departments of Civil Supplies, Weights and Measures, and the Food and Drugs Administration conducted a joint awareness campaign on consumer rights at Mapusa market on Wednesday. The officials visited the various grocery shops, sweet marts, food cafés and restaurants in Mapusa Market and informed the shopkeepers about the rights of the consumers and distributed awareness pamphlets. The shop owners were also informed about packaging, hygiene, and other mandatory rules.
This campaign was carried out by a team led by Deepa Phulari (Assistant Director, Civil Supplies Department of Bardez), Food Safety Officer Vishwasrao Rane of FDA, Inspector of Weights and Measures Department Rajesh Vengurlekar, Assistant Director of Civil Supplies (Bicholim) Darshan Harmalkar, Assistant Director of Civil Supplies (Pernem) Bhanu Goltekar, Bardez Inspector Pallavi Toraskar, and Pernem Inspector Rajiv Sawant.
