The Goa Union of Journalists congratulated veteran journalist and GUJ member Sandesh Prabhudesai for winning the ‘Laxmidas Borkar Smruti Patrakarita Puraskar’ instituted by the Bori Development Trust in memory of the late Laxmidas Borkar, freedom fighter and eminent journalist, stated a press release. Prabhudesai is a veteran journalist and currently Editor of goanews.com, Goa’s oldest news website since 1996. He has previously handled several responsibilities as Editor of Sunaparant, Editor-in-Chief of Prudent and Goa 365. Prabhudesai has been a reporter for Goan and national dailies, weeklies in English and Marathi since 1987. He is a regular contributor to BBC news and is currently involved in literary and cultural activities. After retiring as a full-time journalist in 2020, Prabhudesai is now into research journalism and focuses on analytical writing. "GUJ congratulates Prabhudesai for the award and wishes him success in his endeavours," the union added in its press release.
