MARGAO: The Higher Secondary Teachers Association of Goa (HISTAG) will host KalaGurujan-2025, an educational and cultural festival for teachers, at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, today. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will be the chief guest, with Education Secretary Prasad Lolayekar, Director of Education Shailesh Zingade, SCERT Director Meghana Shetgaonkar, and Goa Board Chairman Bhagirat Shetye attending as special guests. A highlight will be a podcast recording where Lolayekar will discuss the New Education Policy (NEP) implementation, focusing on upcoming Higher Secondary reforms in 2026. The podcast will later be available on major platforms.
More than 800 teachers from 40 Higher Secondary Schools are expected to participate. Ten cultural competitions inspired by Indian folk art will be held.
Awards will include Rolling Trophies for the Winning School and Runners-Up, along with individual prizes. The event aims to celebrate creativity and the talents of Goa’s teaching community.
