The North Goa Sessions Court has framed charges of murder and destruction of evidence against Satish Kullu and Junel Kullu in connection with an incident that occurred in April 2024.  According to the chargesheet filed by the Pernem police, the accused, acting with common intention, murdered a labourer employed by the complainant Vaman Karapurkar by strangulating him with a nylon rope. They subsequently disposed of the body in the Terekhol River to destroy evidence.

Sessions Judge Irshad Agha ruled that both accused had committed offenses punishable under Sections 302 and 201, read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code. “The offenses were committed by the accused with the common intention of murdering the victim... Therefore, there is material to frame charges against the accused for the offenses punishable under Sections 302 and 201 read with Sections 120-B and 34 of the IPC,” the order stated.  The complaint was lodged by Karapurkar, a resident of Naibag, Pernem, who owns a distillery for producing country liquor during the cashew season. At the time of the incident, Karapurkar had engaged three labourers, including the two accused. Upon inquiry, the complainant was informed by accused Satish Kullu that they had murdered their co-worker, identified as Abnejar Kullu (referred to as Chacha), and thrown his body into the river.
