PANAJI: The Indian Society of Periodontology (ISP) recently hosted its 48th Annual National Conference at Kala Academy, Panaji—the first in Goa since 1991. Inaugurated by Dr. Harilal B. Menon, Vice Chancellor of Goa University, the four-day event attracted over 1,200 delegates, including academicians, practitioners, and postgraduate students.
The conference featured 17 keynote lectures, joint sessions with international societies, and presentations of over 200 scientific research papers and 700 posters. Special topics included facial aesthetics and advanced techniques in dental implants. A trade fair showcased the latest dental equipment.
At the valedictory function, awards were presented for the best papers and research grants issued for dissertations on implantology. Dr. Sandeep Lawande was recognised for his significant contributions to organising the event.
