MARGAO: SC Davorlim advanced to the quarterfinals of the 7th Martin's Cup 2024, organized by Betalbatim Sports Club, after defeating Parish Youth Nuvem 2-0 at the Betalbatim Panchayat Ground on Saturday.
The match was fast-paced and attacking, with Davorlim taking the lead in the 14th minute through Delton Colaco. Parish Youth Nuvem responded with a counter-attack in the 20th minute, but their forwards were unable to find the back of the net, leaving Davorlim ahead 1-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Parish Youth Nuvem attempted to seize control of the game and came close to equalizing when Inacio Colaco failed to convert an open chance. As the match progressed, Davorlim doubled their lead in the 56th minute, with Ajay Raj scoring to make it 2-0.
Delton Colaco was named the Man of the Match for his stellar performance, with the award presented by Santu Fernandes, Assistant Sports Secretary of Betalbatim Sports Club.
