PANAJI: St Thomas Parish in Aldona will host a thanksgiving and felicitation programme on Pastors’ Day, 4th August 2024, in honour of His Excellency Most Rev. Simiao Purificação Fernandes, Auxiliary Bishop of Goa and Daman, who was elevated to this position by His Holiness Pope Francis on 6th April 2024.
His Excellency will be the main celebrant of the solemn Eucharistic celebration, with the Thanksgiving Mass starting at 5:00 p.m. This will be followed by a short felicitation programme. Bishop Simiao served in Aldona as an assistant parish priest for two years after his ordination in 1993 and was instrumental in forming the Aldona Parish Youth. All are cordially invited to join in the celebration and thank Almighty God for the gift bestowed on our beloved Auxiliary Bishop.
