PANAJI: The Career Counselling Cell of the Directorate of Student Placement and Alumni Relations (DSPAR), Goa University, recently held an orientation programme on UPSC coaching across various colleges in Goa, under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Harilal Menon. The initiative aims to guide final-year students, graduates, and alumni from Goa who aspire to join the civil services, by offering value-based education and fostering responsible citizenship.
Led by Dr. Rupesh Patre, Director of DSPAR, the team included Dr. Arvind Haldankar, Dr. Mridini Gawas, Aakruthi Alarnkar, Dr. Sangeeta Dessai, and Shashikant Morajkar. The team provided students with an overview of the UPSC Civil Services Examination, including its three stages – Preliminary, Mains, and Interview – along with syllabus details and preparation strategies.
The orientation also covered key objectives such as widening career opportunities, ensuring job security, promoting nation-building, and supporting personal development. An interactive Q&A session encouraged students to stay focused on their goals.
