A weapons demonstration exhibition was conducted to mark the golden jubilee celebrations of the CISF unit at the Mormugao Port Trust.

A number of events were organised to mark the golden jubilee celebrations of the CISF unit at the Mormugao Port Trust (MPT).
The CISF unit was inducted at the MPT on March 4, 1971 to safeguard the safety and security of one of the oldest and historical ports of the country.
In a press note, the MPT said the CISF had been in the forefront to ensure the safety and security for the smooth functioning of the port.
The different programmes organised in the MPT to mark the golden jubilee of CISF unit at MPT included drawing competition for wards of MPT management and Unit personnel (March 1) and essay writing competition for wards of MgPT Management and unit personnel (March 2).
On March 3, 36 personnel including CISF personnel and management employees donated blood during a blood donation camp organised with the support of Blood Bank of Goa Medical College under the supervision of Dr Pascoal D’Souza and Dr Saish Naik.
On Thursday, a Guard of Honour was presented to MPT Chairman Dr E Ramesh Kumar, followed with a prize distribution ceremony.
Later, a weapons demonstration exhibition was conducted for wards and employees of MPT for awareness on the status of weapons used by the force personnel in safeguarding MPT in all sorts of situations.
During the programme Kuldeep Bhagat (Dy Comdt, CISF Unit MPT) Guru Prasad Rai (MPT Dy Chairman) and other MPT officials were also present.
