MARGAO: The Colva police have registered an FIR against a group of persons for assaulting a resident of Colva before dropping him near Maria hall, Benaulim after removing his clothes.
A case under section 117(2), 189(2), 140(3), 352, 351(3) r/w 190 of the BNS, 2023 has been registered against Walter Fernandes, a resident of Raia and others.
Police said that on September 19 between 04.00hrs to 07.00hrs near Sagar Kinara Hotel, Colva, accused persons allegedly formed and unlawful assembly and assaulted Romy Fernandes, resident of Colva with fist blows and kicks and further abducted him in his black colour car from near Sagar Kinara and took him near Colva Plaza Seraulim, near the Petrol pump where he was again assaulted.
The accused persons further dropped the victim near Maria Hall Benaulim after removing all his clothes and also abused and threatened him with dire consequences.
PSI Prathamesh Mahale of Colva PS is conducting further investigation in the case.
