PANAJI
'Devacheam Bhurgeanchim Gitam, Volume 15' with new liturgical hymns was released by Auxillary Bishop Simião Purificação Fernandes along with the members of the Diocesan Commission for Sacred Music and other dignitaries, at the Archbishop's Palace, Altinho-Panaji on Wednesday.
This volume is especially dedicated to Bishop Fernandes.
Devachea Bhurgeanchim Gitam volumes consist of the official approved versions of liturgical hymns being used in the liturgical services of the Church in the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman.
The members of Diocesan Commision for Sacred Music are Fr Romeo Monteiro (Chancellor of Diocese & Director of Western Classical Music at Kala Academy, Panjim), Fr Joaquim Loiola Pereira (Secretary to Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão), Fr Noel da Costa (Administrator of Diocese), Fr Mathew Rebello (Music Professor at Rachol Seminary), Fr Rolland Lin Fernandes (Parish Priest at Arambol), Fr Mario De Souza, Fr Seby Vaz, Fr Simon Mathew D'Cunha (President of Goa Diocesan Commision for Sacred Music & Chaplain at St Joaquim Chapel, Borda) and other dignitaries were present for the function.
The books will be soon available in Furtados (Panaji & Margao), St Paul's (Mapusa) and Pedros (Panaji & Margao).
