The National Fire Service Day was observed in the State on April 14, to pay homage to Firemen martyrs who have sacrificed their lives during the course of duty, followed by Fire Prevention Week from April 14-20, to generate Fire Safety Awareness among the People. The Directorate has organized the city’s biggest cycling event, Goa Fire Cyclothon during the Fire Prevention Week on April 17 at 7 am @ the Training Ground, Fire Force Headquarters, Panaji. The T-Shirt and medals for the said event were unveiled on April 16 in the Class Room, Fire Force Headquarters, Panaji by Nitin V. Raiker, Director Fire & Emergency Services in the presence of Ajit K. Kamat, Asst. Divisional Officer, North Zone, Kedar Kenkre, Executive Committee Member & Satyen Chimulkar, Secretary of Panjim Cycling Club.
