The annual feast of the Guardian Angel was celebrated with traditional fervour at Guardian Angel Church, Curchorem, on November 19.
Parish Priest of Our Lady of Rosary Church, Navelim, Fr Gabriel Coutinho was the main celebrant for the Eucharistic celebration which was concelebrated by Parish Priest Fr Vital Miranda, Assistant Parish Priest Fr Ashilff Correia, Fr Joaquim Rebello, Fr Jerry Vaz, Fr Thomas Gonsalves, Fr Agapito D'Cunha, Fr Michael Rebello and Deacon Melvin Gomes.
In his homily, Fr Coutinho said ego is the greatest problem which destroys relationships in the family. "Do service to others with a good mindset and not with ulterior motives. Christian life is not only lighting the candles but one must follow the teaching of Christ," said Fr Coutinho.
He advised parents to instil good values in their children which is the greatest treasure they can keep behind for their children. After the Eucharistic celebration, a procession with the image of Guardian Angel was organised with the participation of devotees and children depicted as angels.
Later in the evening a Konkani Tiatr ‘Ho Inam Koslo?’ by Ulhas Tari was staged at Ravindra Bhavan Auditorium, Curchorem, in aid of the Fr Agnelo Primary School, Curchorem.
