The five-day Kala Rang 2023, a festival of dance, music and theatre, got underway to a scintillating start at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao after it was inaugurated at the hands of Padma Shri and Dadasaheb Phalke award winner Asha Parekh on Thursday.
This is the 21st year that Kalangan has organised the festival in coordination with the Directorate of Art and Culture and Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude underscored the need to tap the talent of budding artists. Margao MLA Digambar Kamat complimented Kalangan for hosting the festival. He said Kalangan has come a long way since the festival was held for the first time 21 years ago. Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan, Rajendra Talak, who heads the Kalangan Centre for Performing Arts, said a host of eminent artists will perform during the five-day festival.
