PANAJI: Dalgado Konknni Akademi has organised the 8th Konkani (Romi Lipi) Writers’ Conference on January 12 (Sunday) at Fr. Agnel College of Arts and Commerce, Pilar, Goa. The conference will commence at 9:30 am and conclude at 5:00 pm. Two sessions will be highlighted during the conference. Dr. Pandurang Phaldesai, Director of Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr, Porvorim, has consented to be the chief guest for the inaugural session, while Fr. Manuel Gomes, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Amparo Church, Mandur, and senior writer, has agreed to be the chief guest for the concluding session.
The first session will focus on various literary genres, featuring presentations by Vincy Quadros, Dr. Fr. Luis Gomes, and Dr. Denis Vaz. Tomazinho Cardozo will moderate the session, followed by a Q&A session with panellists Dr. Glenis Mendonca, Fr. Roman Rodrigues, and Anthony Menezes. The second session will emphasise children’s literature, with presentations by Fr. Jose Silveira and Fr. Myron Jeson Barreto. Fausto V. Da Costa will moderate the session, with panellists Menino Almeida, Vishal Khandeparkar, and Sensico Dias.
