Manipal Hospitals, Goa launched its first comprehensive diabetes clinic programme in Goa. The clinic comprises a Diabetologist along with a Podiatrist, Dietician, Ophthalmologist, General Surgeon all under one setup. Also, blood investigations, Radiology, consultations, CGMS (Continuous Glucose Monitoring), biothesiometry, body composition analysis, and diabetes counsellors are available as a part of the comprehensive package for the patients. Dr Vikram Dalvi, Consultant, Internal medicine, Manipal Hospitals, Goa said, “ Our primary aim is to detect diabetes among people at an early stage and work towards reversal and prevention to a large extent.” Dr. Vaibhav Dukle, Endocrinologist, Manipal Hospitals, Goa said, "Diabetes management is no longer only about sugar control. The understanding of this complex metabolic disorder has evolved and a comprehensive approach is needed to minimize complications and improve the quality of life."
