Police constable Purshottam Naik attached to the Mormugao police station on Sunday was awarded the DGP's Insignia award.
Naik who is attached to the Mormugao police station was awarded the DGP's Insignia Award on the occasion of Goa Police raising day at a function held in Panjim.
Naik was awarded the DGPs imsignia award at the hands of Director General of Police Mukesh Kumar Meena in recognition of his valuable contribution and devotion to duty .
Naik who has been working with the Goa police for around 20 years had been attached to various police stations, the previous being Vasco police station. Naik has also helped detect several crimes including murder, house breaks, theft and narcotics raids during his career at various police stations as a part of the LIB units.
