A one-day seminar on ‘Writing Skills for Media’ was held at Government College, Sanquelim.
Panaji: A state-level seminar on ‘Writing Skills for Media’ was organised at Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sanquelim. Journalist and former information commissioner Sanjay Dhavalikar, the chief guest, highlighted the vast scope of media beyond newspapers and television, urging students to explore career opportunities in the field.
Principal Dr Namdev Gavas delivered the welcome address, while Dr Sneha Mahambre outlined the seminar’s objectives. Sessions covered various aspects of media writing, including print, television, and radio journalism. Senior journalists Amar Patil and Yeti Lad shared insights on vocabulary building and broadcast media, while Chitra Kshirsagar discussed column writing.
The event featured interactive discussions, with students and faculty engaging in sessions moderated by experts. Participants were welcomed with saplings, and a vote of thanks was delivered by Prof Chandramala Rane. The seminar aimed to equip aspiring media professionals with essential writing skills.
