MARGAO: Parish Youth Nuvem secured their spot in the semifinals with a thrilling 1-0 victory over Guardian Angel Savordem in the 33rd Super Soccer Tournament in memory of Joao Francis Fernandes, organised by United Boys of Dando Colva.
Inacio Colaco scored the match winner off a strong volley in the 19th minute. The match however, was anything but straightforward with five yellow cards and a red card fueling intense on-field drama. The first half concluded with Nuvem holding a slender 1-0 lead, but the real action unfolded after the break.
Guardian Angel Savordem dominated the second half, relentlessly attacking Nuvem's defense. Despite their midfielders orchestrating numerous opportunities, the Savordem forwards couldn't find the back of the net. Missed chances and near-misses left Savordem frustrated, as Nuvem's defense held firm under pressure. The tension was palpable, with temper flaring and the referee was kept busy managing the game's fiery nature. In the end, Nuvem's early brilliance and steadfast defense saw them through to the semifinals in an action-packed encounter. Inacio Colaco received man of the match award from Markus Carvalho former National football player.
