MARGAO: Sao Jose de Areal secured a dramatic 5-3 penalty shootout victory over United Sports Club Seraulim to advance to the semifinals of the 14th Wilred Leisure Soccer Cup 2025 at the DSYA ground in Curtorim on Wednesday.
The match remained goalless after regulation time, forcing a decisive penalty shootout.
For Areal, Bersal Viegas, Stalen Colaco, Mohammad Mansoori, Aryan Carvalho, and Dyral Costa successfully converted their penalties. Seraulim's Ashley Fernandes, Sandip Shante, and Oliver D'Souza were on target, but two missed attempts sealed their fate.
Mohammad Mansoori of Sao Jose de Areal was named Man of the Match and received the award from Yogesh Velip.
