AS part of the the Union government’s intiative, a digital banking unit (DBU) of the State Bank of India (SBI) was inaugurated in Goa on Sunday.
Union Minister of State for Tourism Shripad Naik, Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar, Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, State Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho, SBI MD ( RB &O) Alok Kumar Chaudhary, SBI DGM (B and O), Panaji Module, Bikas Basumatary were present on the occasion.
The initiative is aims to ensure that the benefits of digital banking reach every nook and corner of the country.
The DBUs will offer banking products and services to the customers 24x7.
On October 16, PM Narendra Modi had dedicated 75 digital banking units to the nation.
Speaking to press, Chaudhary reiterated that various facilities like cash deposit and withdrawal, account opening, fixed deposits, pass book priniting and balance enquiry and funds transfer any many more facilities.
