Shripad Naik, Minister of State for Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Tourism had a review meeting of MPLAD projects with Mamu Hage, IAS, Collector, North Goa on Tuesday at Collector office, Panaji. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the MPLAD scheme was temporarily suspended for almost two years. Now that the economy is bouncing back to normalcy under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, there are hopes that the scheme will commence soon. Naik, who has won the MP election representing North Goa constituency continuously for the 5th time, has completed more than 1000 projects under the MPLAD scheme and stood 10th in India among all the MP’s to complete the most projects under MPLAD. In the review meeting which was also attended by Additional Collector Narayan Gad and other officials, discussions were held on the pending projects and the projects which are in the pipeline.
