Two Bihari men caught red-handed while committing theft at Socorro

Porvorim Police have arrested two men who were caught red handed by locals while committing theft in a house located at Socorro.

Porvorim Police Inspector Rahul Parab said that at around 04.45  hours on Thursday  they received a call from PCR Panaji stating that some locals from Aradi, Socorro had caught two persons while they were committing theft in an old house.

Porvorim Police rushed to the site immediately and arrested both the accused and brought both of them to the police station. After interrogation accused  disclosed their names as Tahsin Raja Alam, aged 22 resident of Saligao and native of Bairia, Bihar and  Sheikh Istekar, aged 24 resident of Saligao and native of Bairia-Bihar. They have confessed having committed crime. Police have recovered the articles worth Rs 10,000 from the accused persons, said Parab. Police have registered the offence under sections 331(4),305 read with 3(5) of BNS. Police Sub Inspector Sachin Shirodkar under the guidance of Police Inspector Rahul Parab, SDPO Viswesh Karpe and SP North Akshat Kaushal in conducting further investigation.
