Aaron, Arvind, Ishita, Urvi in respective finals

Aaron Farias and Arvind Kumar emerged as the finalists in the Men's category, while Ishita Colaso and Urvi Surlakar secured their spots in the Women's final, on day three of the Late Manohar Sawkar Goa State Table Tennis Championship 2024-25 at Peddem.

In the Men’s quarterfinals, Aaron Farias began his campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over Atharv Dhulapkar. Diljeet Velingkar edged past the in-form Chandan Caro in a closely contested 3-2 match. Arvind Kumar showcased his prowess with a commanding 3-0 win against Rishan Shaikh, while Anshuman Agarwal comfortably defeated Shawn Soares 3-0.

The semifinals saw Aaron Farias deliver a stellar performance, sweeping past Diljeet Velingkar 4-0. Arvind Kumar faced a tougher challenge but prevailed 4-2 against Anshuman Agarwal, setting the stage for an exciting final between the championship’s top two seeds.

In the Women’s category, the quarterfinals brought varied results. Pradnya Caro advanced to the semifinals via a walkover against Shreya Phadte, while Ishita Colaso showcased her dominance with a commanding 3-0 win over Riya Gopi. Urvi Surlakar breezed past Sanisha Sinha 3-0, and Neeza Kamat outplayed Aditi Chodankar 3-0 to complete the semifinal lineup.

The semifinals were fiercely contested, with Ishita Colaso narrowly defeating Pradnya Caro in a thrilling 3-2 encounter. Urvi Surlakar continued her impressive run, overcoming Neeza Kamat 3-1 to secure her place in the final.

The championship, organized by the North Goa District Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the Goa Table Tennis Association and the Sports Authority of Goa, has brought the best of Goa's table tennis talent to the fore. The finals will be held on Saturday, from 3 PM onwards.
