PANAJI: BITS Pilani Goa on the occasion of 60 years of BITS Pilani University and 20 years of the Goa Campus, observed the Breast Cancer Awareness Month of October, by conducting an awareness talk on breast cancer for the less-privileged ladies of the nearby Zari and Zuarinagar areas at Kiran Niketan Primary School, Zuarinagar.
The talk, delivered by the doctor of the student-led institute NIRMAAN, Dr Nayana Kantak, was attended by around 50 ladies. Registrations for the breast cancer screening camp on October 22 at the campus medical centre were also done. Dr Kantak made the ladies aware of the incidence of breast cancer in women, its warning signs, self-testing and testing modalities available. This initiative was spearheaded jointly by the campus outreach team and NIRMAAN.
