MARGAO: Bandol Sports Club got the better of Novowaddo Sports Club 4-2 to enter the quarterfinals of 1st Caniza Peixoto memorial football tournament, organised by Agxem Sports Club, at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Thursday.
Novowaddo Sports Club opened the scoreline through Frazer fernandes in the 12th minute while Presley Fernandes doubled the lead in the 20th minutes. Meanwhile, Bandol SC pulled a goal back through Maldino Rodrigues in the 15th minute.
In the second session, Bandol regrouped quickly and took control of the game and scored three more goals to seal the game. Pritam found the net in the 32nd minute while Maldino Rodrigues completed his brace in the 38th minute to make it 3-2 and in the last quarter of the match Pritam completed his brace by scoring in the 44th minute.
Fazlie Fernandes of Novowaddo Sports Club was awarded man of the match by former player of Agxem Sports Club Conceicao Paes.
