PANAJI: Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao, Goa, celebrated its Annual Social Gathering on December 23, with Delilah Lobo, MLA of Siolim and Vice-Chairperson of the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), as the Chief Guest.
In her address, Lobo encouraged students to embrace active participation in academics and extracurricular activities, urging them to step out of their comfort zones and strive for excellence. She also emphasised the importance of inclusivity, supporting students needing additional attention, and pursuing opportunities beyond Goa. Lobo announced plans to construct an internal road on the college campus and highlighted her initiative of felicitating meritorious students in her constituency.
The event began with a welcome song and an annual report by Principal Prof DB Arolkar, showcasing the college’s achievements in academics, sports, and cultural events. Highlights included success in intercollegiate competitions, sustainability initiatives, and faculty accomplishments in research.
The formal session concluded with a vote of thanks by General Secretary Rudresh Naik, followed by a vibrant variety programme featuring student performances, including dances, skits, and a fashion show, providing a platform for showcasing talent.
