MARGAO: Domdolem Sports Club secured 4-0 fluent win over St.Anthony Boys in the 1st Caniza Peixoto memorial 9-a-side inter-ward football tournament, organised by Agxem Sports Club, at St Alex church ground, Curtorim, on Thursday.
The match started on attacking note as both teams tried to break the deadlock. Damdolem took lead in the seventh minute through Nezy Hilario from the brilliant pass off Joy Hilario. Damdolem doubled their lead through Joy Hilario from a pass off Nezy Hilario in the 18th minute. St Anthony Boys had a great chance in the 20th minute but Leandro missed the open header. Soon after, Timoteo's shot was well saved by Damdolem goalkeeper.
St.Anthony Boys tried hard to reduced the goal margin. Damdolem scored their third goal in the 32nd minute through Milford Cardozo. Damdolem sealed their win with fourth goal from Melwin in the 40th minute of the match.
Sandy Fernandes was awarded the man of the match by former Agxem Sports Club player Anthony Peixoto.
