Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda secured a place in the finals of the 17th All-Goa Inter-Village Seraulim Panchayat Cup Football Tournament by defeating hosts United Sports Club (USC) Seraulim 4-1 at the Seraulim Panchayat Ground on Thursday.
In a tightly contested semifinal, Don Bosco Oratory took an early lead when Roque Borges scored with a powerful header in the 6th minute. Edger Noronha doubled the advantage in the 21st minute, and although USC Seraulim’s Shashank Shanke pulled one back in the 24th minute, the score at halftime stood at 2-1 in favor of Don Bosco.
In the second half, Shubert Colaco extended Don Bosco's lead with a goal in the 31st minute. USC Seraulim was awarded a penalty after a handball by a Fatorda player, but the opportunity was missed. As the match progressed, Don Bosco sealed their victory when Richie Vaz scored the fourth goal in the 59th minute.
Shashank Shanke of USC Seraulim was named the Man of the Match by Kennedy D'Souza.
