MARGAO
Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has said the entrance roads to Fatorda at Davondem, wholesale fish market, and Mungul-Madel will soon be illuminated with ornamental lamps as part of the beautification. He was speaking to the media after launching the work on the shed for the rickshaw and motorcycle pilots operating near the Margao KTC bus stand. The Fatorda MLA further said that the redeveloped wholesale fish market should be developed with the interests of the local fishermen at heart and not for the outside fish traders. He reiterated his demand for the replacement of the paintings of whales and sharks on the wholesale fish market walls, saying the paintings are not in sync with the heritage of the state. Promising all help for the rickshaw and motorcycle pilots in the event they express their desire to switch over to EV vehicles, the Fatorda MLA said that the development of the Margao KTC bus stand has been long overdue, as he hoped the BJP government would take up the project at the earliest.
