IM Nitish Belurkar remained undefeated to score 9 points in 9 rounds to be crowned champion at the All Goa Liberation Cup Rapid Open Chess Tournament organised by Queens Chess and Cultural Club at Dr. K. B. Hedgewar School, Cujira.
Chaitanya Gaonkar and Joshua Telles scored 8 points each and won the 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
Alex Sequeira won 4th place with 7.5 points while Devesh Naik, Vihaan Tari, Sudhakar Patgar, ACM Rhys Dominic Carvalho, Jennica Sequeira Harsh dagare, Lyia Marysil Silveira, Ayush Naik and Aarth Karapurkar scored 7 points each to be placed in 5th to 13th position.
Chief Guest Kishor Bandekar, Ex Treasurer of All India Chess Federation and Ex Secretary of Goa Chess association complimented Queens Club members for conducting such wonderful tournament every year which gives an impetus to chess kids and chess lovers to hone their chess talents and asked Queen Club members to keep up the good work. Vidya Bandekar, Sarvanand Shirodkar, Sandesh Prabhu Chodnekar and Chief Arbiter Tanisq Kavalekar were the other dignitaries on the dais.
