Bicholim police have arrested a car driver in connection with a hit and run case, which led to the death of a pedestrian. According to police reports, a car was proceeding in a rash and negligent manner and on reaching the Amona bridge, struck a pedestrian Shambhu Tari (75) of Tariwada in Amona-Bicholim and fled away from the spot without giving medical aid or intimating the police. Tari later succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the GMC hospital at Bambolim. Different police teams were formed to trace the car driver and the accused, Navin Gawade (34) of Bhironda-Sattari, was traced along with his car. Gawade was later arrested under Sections 106 (1), 281 BNS and Sec 134 (a) & (b) of M V Act and his car has been seized in the crime. PSI Viraj Dhauskar is conducting further investigating under the supervision of PI Dinesh Gadekar and SDPO DySP Jivba Dalvi.
