MARGAO: Peddem Bomm Sports Club rallied from an early deficit to secure a 3-1 victory over Nerul Sports Club, advancing to the quarterfinals of the 17th London Trophy Inter Village Football Tournament 2025, organised by Goa Velha Sports Club.
Nerul Sports Club struck first, with Nehal Naik finding the net in the 12th minute. However, Peddem Bomm responded swiftly, as Faheez Mohammad equalised in the 23rd minute, ensuring the teams entered halftime level at 1-1.
The second half saw an unfortunate own goal from Nerul's Nikhil Naik, who deflected a Faheez Mohammad cross in the 41st minute, put Peddem Bomm ahead. Santosh Bhulan sealed the victory for Peddem Bomm with a goal in the 48th minute.
The match saw Anuj Kuttikar of Nerul SC receive a caution from referee Shravan Lamani. Renny Dias of Peddem Bomm SC was named Man of the Match, receiving the award from Alex Gonsalves, a member of Goa Velha SC.
