MARGAO: Ravindra Bhavan Margao will celebrate the birth centenary of Padma Bhushan Ravindra Kelekar on 6th March 2025 at 4:00 p.m. Ravindra Kelekar was a renowned Konkani writer, scholar, linguist, creative thinker, freedom fighter, and a key figure in the modern Konkani movement.
As part of the event, three young writers or notable personalities will receive this year’s “Padma Bhushan Shri Ravindra Kelekar Yuva Srujan Puraskar.”
Ravindra Bhavan Margao is also organising an essay competition titled “Padma Bhushan Shri Ravindra Kelekar Nibandh Lekhan Competition” for participants aged 15 to 35 years.
The winners will receive cash prizes of Rs 7,000, Rs 5,000, and Rs 3,000 for the first, second, and third places, respectively. The awards will be presented during the event on 6th March 2025. Interested participants can submit their essays via email at rbm-dac.goa@nic.in or deliver them to the Ravindra Bhavan office during working hours. The last date for submission is 25th February 2025.
A documentary titled “Jeevan Yogi Ravindra Kelekar,” produced by Dilip Borkar, will be screened during the event. Additionally, a photo and book exhibition, curated under the guidance of architect Girish Kelekar, son of Ravindra Kelekar, will be displayed.
