CANACONA: Shree Mallikarjun and Shri Chetan Manju Desai College, Canacona in collaboration with its Alumni Association and Parent Teacher Association hosted the second edition of the Sangam Kala Utsav. The festival featured diverse competitions, including street drama, folk dance, patriotic singing, rangoli, fashion fusion, and sports like a fitness run and badminton.
Satyawati Soiru Angle Higher Secondary School excelled, winning first place in rangoli, Indian traditional group dance, street drama, and patriotic singing. Shree Mallikarjun Higher Secondary School and Balaram Higher Secondary School also performed strongly, securing second and third places in various categories. In the fashion fusion competition, Shree Mallikarjun HSS took first place. The fitness run saw Sitija Velip (Government Higher Secondary) and Sachin Gaonkar (Balaram Higher Secondary) winning the girls’ and boys’ categories, respectively. In badminton, Florida Barreto and Piyush Devidas (Satyavati Soiru Higher Secondary) secured top positions in the girls’ and boys’ categories.
Winning teams received trophies, certificates, and cash prizes. President Chetan Desai and Principal Dr Sucheta Naik congratulated the participants, and prizes for the college’s Kalasrijan 2024 competition were also awarded. The event was supported by several dignitaries and cultural committee members.
